Our History
Sunk Capital has been investing in world-class ideas for over 30 years. From our humble origins outside of a Kyrgyz jail in 1994, to the world’s largest and least profitable investment firm.
Our investment fund currently stands at $83 trillion, considerably larger than any of our “competitors”. The size of our fund comes through Barry’s accidental purchase of $25,920 worth of bitcoin in June 2010.
Since then, our investments have spanned the globe, and made Barry Sunk the world’s richest man in the process, owning 99% of Sunk Capital shares. We’re not sure who owns the remaining 1%.
We’re excited to build a new world and bring the next generation of ideas to life for the benefit of predominantly white affluent neighbourhoods.
Founded outside a Kyrgyzstan jail
After Barry Sunk was released from a Kyrgyzstan jail for international wire fraud, he decided to found his own investment firm. Sunk Capital was born, with an initial investment fund of $113.
Mogadishu office opened
After fleeing Kyrgyz authorities and boarding an illegal flight to Somalia, Barry opened the first international office in downtown Mogadishu, with excellent views over the local warlord's compound.
Partnership with Enron
A multi-year agreement signed with Enron, including investment into their commodities business which proved a legal and financial disaster.
Acquires Dave's Battery Supplies
Sunk Capital's first acquisition was for local retailer Dave's Battery Supplies. In a deal worth almost nothing, the team of three, including the eponymous Dave himself, joined the Sunk Capital family.
Bitcoin investment
Barry accidentally buys $25,920 worth of bitcoin, which is valued today at just over $83 trillion. This helps expand our investment fund from $25,920 to $83 trillion.
